CONTOUR002
CONTOUR002 helps to break down the currently selected source image down to roughly 9 basic vector traced shapes within Photoshop. Each vector shape is then assigned a preset opacity level that, when overlapped with previous shapes, deepens the opacity level and further simulates the gradients found in the source image. The overal goal of this Stipplr Action however is to achieve smooth contour-map style linework where the darker areas represent th valleys while the light areas represent the peaks — the process is not unsimilar to the results seen for the movie A Scanner Darkly (but without the color). The final result doesn’t simply look like vexel contours, it’s actually made of vector shapes! Once the vector traced shapes are generated they are stored within a newly created Smart Object which is placed on the layer above the source image.
