GRAYSCALE003 applies a grayscale effect to the currently selected source image in Photoshop.  The grayscale is comprised of a series of approximately 18 vector trace shape layers which the Stipplr Action generates through the application of Adjustment Layer presets, the resulting vector shapes are then assigned with predetermined levels of opacity which help to simulate a shade of gray.  When the vector shapes are layered together, the opacity amoung the shapes is compounded via composition which helps to complete the illusion that the result is a true grayscale photo. For example, if a solid black shape layer with an opacity setting of 25% is placed over another shape layer with an opacity setting of 15% then where the shapes intersect the results would appear to be 40%— the Stipplr Action uses this compunding effect to complete the illusion. Designers are fully able to modify the vector path data manually to removes any extraneous noise in the results or possibly export the paths to Illustrator (although this may create more work than intendedas Photoshop will not export layer effects or shape fill information).
