GRAYSCALE005 creates a recreation of the selected source image through the composition of 36 vector shape layers with predetermined levels of opacity.  As the shape layers are generated, the cumulative effect of the opacity from each shape layer creates darker areas where the shapes overlap — the end result is a very passable simulated grayscale representation of the original source material. The grayscale results often look like a true grayscale photo until you start zooming in, ince this happens the banding becomes very apparent (some photos show banding at any zoom level, the banding is a result of trying to represent the source image with 36 levels of gray and not because of lack of bit depth). Once the rendering is fully complete, each vector trace shape layer is selected and stored within a newly created Smart Object on the layer directly above the source image layer — this helps in easier manipulation of the final result for things such as scaling and rotation.  The designer may experience sluggish performance when editing the Smart Object contains (double-clicking the Smart Object will open a PSB file where you can edit the individual vector shape layers).  Additional information on how to maximize the use of the Stipplr Actions can be found in the tutorial section of this site.
