HALFTONE005 is a halftone texture with variable size dots which are repeated on a 45 degree diagonal. While still sharing the same distance and number of dots as HALFTONE004, this pattern is a much thicker version.  Wikipedia describes a haftone as “… the reprographic technique that simulates continuous tone imagery through the use of dots, varying either in size, in shape or in spacing, thus generating a gradient like effect”. This Stipplr halftone pattern is ideal for simulating the recognizable dot pattern popularized by turn of the century newspapers and comic books from the 50’s,  instantly giving scanned photos the old newspaper photo look. Results are saved as a vector shape layer wrapped within a Smart Object and saved above the source image layer in the current document.  To learn how to simulate some of the more popular forms of graphic art used in movies or Pop Art, please visit the tutorial section of this site.
