INKER005 tries to make life easier for Photoshop designers by quickly generating an inker style vector stroke shape from a selected raster image layer. Luckily Photoshop comes with enough features that allows us to simulate Illustrator’s auto trace functionality with excellent results in order to trace the inker strokes — the quality is only limited by the type of content fed into the process.  For best results we recommend using high resolution scans of your pencil or inker sketches but they work equally well on high resolution photographs (with acceptable, but less predictable, results).  Simply select any image layer in Photoshop and run the INKER005 Stipplr Action preset to begin the auto tracing process, depending on the dimensions of your image it may take as little as a few seconds or a few minutes for extremely large documents.  All results are saved as vector inker shapes within a newly created Smart Object layer placed above the selected source layer in Photoshop, these can be exported as paths to Illustrator or modified locally with the Pen tool.  For examples on how to simulate popular forms of graphic art please browse through the tutorial section on this site.
