QUILL006 is our base quill pattern with hand drawn qualities which lean left.  The Action is identical to QUILL002 but with the patter running in the opposite direction, compositing these two Actions can simulate a crosshatch effect. As the pattern traverses the selected source photo in your Photoshop document it will alter the thickness of the lines in the pattern.  Lines will become thinner over lighter areas and disappear over bright and white areas.  The result is not unlike having your source photo etched directly into the pattern — the pattern itself is then saved as a vector shape layer with a Smart Object container (double-click the Smart Object to edit the vector path data). For additional resources on how to simulate popular fors of graphic art, please consider reading through our tutorial section.
