SCREENTONE001
SCREENTONE001 is a technique similar to halftoning where the size and spacing of the dot pattern dictates how the intensity of the light and dark regions of the photo are rendered. The screentone process is similar to the dry transfer method for applying lettering and halftones, SCREENTONE001 simply traces the currently selected image layer while applying a texture which resembles a halftone application. The main difference between halftone and screentones are that the dot size and spacing is varied in a halftone result while a screentone application is consistent throughout. The SCREENTONE Stipplr Actions have a graphic appearance due to the treatment of light areas as a screen pattern while medium and dark areas are rendered as a solid black vector shape layer. All results are stored within a Smart Object for easy manipulation and placed on the layer above the selected source image in Photoshop.
