STENCIL005 creates 2 vector shape stencils from the RED channel for the currently highlighted photo layer in Photoshop. The stencils, a solid vector shape and a vector haftone pattern, are each saved to their own Smart Objects on layers above the highlighted photo layer — the vector path data can be modifed using the Pen tool or exported as paths to Illustrator.  Both stencils are shown in the provided smaples but can be individually turned off or deleted once the Action has completed the rendering. By examining the RED channel separately from the combined RGB image we can get greater variation, for example, we can get 1 stencil shape from the RGB or 1 from each RED, GREEN and BLUE channel.  This Stipplr Action generates 2 stencil types, solid and halftone, from the RED channel.  By combining the stencils with results from any Action in the STENCIL series the designer has several solid and several halftone stencils with unique shapes to use in their compositions.  For additional information about Stipplr Actions, how to get started or how to simulate popular forms of graphic art please visit the tutorial section of this site.
