STROKE015 employs a form of Ullustrator’s auto trace functionality within Photoshop.  After cloning the currently selected layer a series of custom filters and layer effects help the cloned layer to reveal any and all hidden contour lines. The resulting vector stoke linework is then saved to a new layer above the source image and stored within a Smart Object.  All vector stroke paths remain fully editable or exportable as paths to Illustrator if required.  The generated results also contain random clumps of dithering (a result of the applied filters) which look like artistic shading.  Not all Stipplr Actions create a desired result, often they create widly varying results between images with different resolutions and contrast — it’s recommended to run multiple Stipplr Actions and composite the results until the desired layout is achieved.  For additional tips and pointers on how to get Stipplr Actions creating great graphic content please stop by the tutorial section on this site.
